HOME will be serving pintxos and specially selected wines at Kirkgate Market
HOME, one of the city's most exciting new openings this year, has become the latest name in Leeds food and drink to join the line-up at Kirkgate’s upcoming night market events.
The restaurant which is a collaboration between Michelin-starred Mark Owens and Liz Cottam usually offers a set tasting menu of seasonal British produce over five or ten courses in a more relaxed, casual environment than you’d usually associate with fine dining. They’ll be taking that one step further at the night market events, offering a selection of small plates and pintxos, with the option of pairing each with one of the fine wines from the restaurant’s selection.
With HOME being a close neighbour of Kirkgate Market and an advocate of using local produce, owner Liz was keen to get involved with the upcoming events at the market:
“I’m a Leeds girl myself, and I’ve always thought the market has such a huge potential, so when I heard about the Night Market plans I couldn’t wait to get involved. It’s a great first step towards some real positive changes at the market, and I really hope people get behind it and support the traders”
Dishes available from HOME at the Night Market include duck parfait with duck terrine on duck fat-fried brioche with cherry puree and duck crisps, “tarts” of caramelised cauliflower puree, pickled and roasted cauliflower, hazelnut pesto, cheese mousse and fresh black truffle, and Wild mushroom wellington with Yorkshire blue cheese and roasted shallot chutney.
The initial Kirkgate Night Market takes place Thursday 26 October between 5”30pm and 11pm. Future events are planned for Thursday 30 November, Thursday 21 December, and Thursday 25 January. See our article here for more information and a full list of traders.
