Brace yourselves for a summer of eating
It may not be summer just yet, but with the return of #EatNorth this Saturday, life is starting to feel a little more outdoorsy for food lovers. Lonely Planet calls it “The North’s best food festival” and with 26 events planned for every Saturday and bank holiday from April to 14th September, it’s hard to argue with their assessment.
clear your diaries, do your best sun dances and let’s turn the city into one massive party
As with previous years, the event will be held at the North Brewing Co. taproom in Sheepscar, with a rotating range of street food traders, offering both sweet and savoury items. And of course, the beer is as fresh as you can possibly get.
2019 will see even more themed weekends than previous years, with the popular VeganNorth returning on 18th May alongside SeaNorth (11th May), CheeseNorth (27th July) and an August bank holiday special – 80s North, which will be a nostalgia-fest, both musically and in terms of the special dishes the outlets will be serving up.
All events are family and pet-friendly, and seating is available both covered and uncovered. Will we see the return of the addictive beanbag throwing game from previous summers? One can only hope.
The May bank holiday #EatNorth (25th-26th May) will also be one of the closing events of Leeds Indie Food festival, with both events being run by the same team. In fact, Leeds promises to be full to bursting with events that weekend, so clear your diaries, do your best sun dances and let’s turn the city into one massive party.
