Liverpool's food and drink scene is thriving right now – go and explore it for half price

WHEN you live in a city with a buzzing food scene, like, say, Manchester or Leeds, it's easy to forget that there's a whole other world of brilliant restaurants and bars just a short train ride away.

We're talking about Liverpool, of course – which has independents springing up by the dozen right now.

The huge cash injection brought by regeneration has created a food scene that's getting attention nationally. Liverpool is now the North West's top location for launching a new restaurant or bar.

Many of Liverpool's most talked-about openings are locally-born independents. And the best of these are on the recently expanded Confidentials app, which now covers Liverpool as well as Manchester, and gives you up to 50% off food and drink.

Add to this the ease of getting to Liverpool – it's under 40 minutes by train from Victoria, and an hour and half from Leeds – and you've got a great location for a foodie day-trip or a special night out.

Why not make Liverpool one of your places to go in 2020? Here's our guide to where to eat, drink and go out-out there for half price with the Confidentials app.
