Leeds Indie Food's annual hopfest has been moved from November to May
IT’S thirsty work the opening weekend of Leeds Indie Food, so slotting in the Brewers Market Beer Festival 2018 alongside makes perfect sense to us.
Showcasing the very best of local and international craft beer over the course of two days and three sessions, this year will be their biggest yet. A worthy companion to Leeds’ biggest city-wide, month-long independent food and drink festival.
They’ve swapped their old November dates for balmy May (11 and 12) but once again the venue is Canal Mills, where they can now benefit from the outdoor space to allow for even more craft beer and street food, as well as a pop-up gin bar hosted by Bathtub Gin, a selection of natural wines from Wayward Wines and extra DJs.
Joining them over the weekend will be a hefty bunch of brewery partners including the likes of: Verdant, Kirkstall, Northern Monk, Thornbridge, Vocation, Black Lodge, Zapato, Track, Buxton, the Tall Boys bottle shop with many more to be announced over the coming weeks.
Over in the food department, there will be the likes of Mussel Pot, Confidential favourites Little Bao Boy, Rabbit Hole Coffee, Sandos, MorMor and Little Red Food Truck.
Can Mills events manager Matt Long is definitely excited: “This year we’ve moved from our traditional November slot to the summer, which will give us the chance to use more space and therefore bring in more breweries than ever before.
"We’ll also have a wider selection of food and extras thrown in, so it’s going to be our biggest edition of Brewers Market yet.”
It’s spread out across three sessions, each £8 (+£1.20 booking fee): Friday, May 11, 5pm-midnight, Saturday, May 12, 12pm-5pm and 6pm-midnight.
