THE stage version of one of the most successful British films of all time, The Full Monty, is heading for the Opera House, Manchester, with an all-star cast. In 1997 a film about six out-of-work Sheffield steelworkers with nothing to lose took the world by storm – now the boys are back, only this time, they really have to go The Full Monty – live on stage.
Simon Beaufoy, the BAFTA and Oscar-winning writer of the film has adapted his hilarious and heartfelt story for the stage – his first work for the theatre. His other screen credits include 127 Hours, Slumdog Millionaire and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
The production also features the iconic songs from the film by Donna Summer, Hot Chocolate and Tom Jones. Gary Lucy will lead a cast that includes Andrew Dunn, Louis Emerick, Rupert Hill, Martin Miller and Bobby Schofield.
This new production is directed by award-winning director Roger Haines whose recent credits include the world premiere of the musical The Go-Between and the national tour of Calendar Girls.
The Full Monty is showing at the Opera House, Manchester from Thursday 11 September to Saturday 20 September. Tickets are priced from £10-£32.40.
