Three courses of French-inspired comfort food with wine
WE'RE all for trying the latest food trends and ever-more-imaginative dining experiences, but sometimes we just want to eat in a classic restaurant that does good food at a good price.
Bread and Butter on Hope Street is one of those places. It keeps its French country menu simple, and focuses on getting the food and service just right so that it's easy for you to have a relaxing and enjoyable meal out.
Go for a starter such as Grilled figs with gorgonzola and honey, followed by Panfried chicken livers with morello cherries, red onions and mascarpone mash. Desserts include Crème brulee and of course, Bread and butter pudding.
They offer a good range of GF and vegetarian options too, such as Grilled aubergine gratin and vegan Chocolate mousse.
Much of the food is French-influenced but think French comfort food rather than overly fussy French dining.
We think it's perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. The menu ranges from nibbles and sharing boards to a three course meal. In this competition you can win the full works: three courses and a bottle of their house wine for two.
