It's a bit of a leap forward this one: Experience the life of salmon and then have some salmon afterwards at the Bluecoat this weekend.
Inara Dive is a physical diving simulator in which people followed ropes blindfolded while listening to the noise representing the depth of water.
This weekend at the Bluecoat's salmon special there will be added spatial effects, which are like a kind of meandering journey where you are carried along by the current, pushed this way and that, which lets you imagine the hard life of salmon.
For those who may have forgotten in the technicalities of being a salmon, it is anadromous fish, which means they travel from the river of their birth place out towards the ocean, then eventually return back to the river they were born in to spawn eggs.
With Salmon Simulator 2.0, your journey starts as a juvenile fish and ends as an adult. After going through the installation, you will be given a salmon birth certificate to prove that you have experienced a life of salmon. Might feel a bit odd if you intend to eat some salmon afterwards. Cannibalistic, even.
But never fear, you can rid yourself from the guilt and exchange the certificate for free salmon at the salmon tasting stall. See if it tastes any different.
