Two people arrested
A 26-year-old woman from Netherton and a 30-year-old man from Litherland have been arrested after a man was found with serious head injuries in Colquitt Street last night.
The man, in his 30s, was pronounced dead a short time later.
He was found in a gated courtyard area by police and paramedics after a passer-by reported the discovery, believing the man had fallen from an upper storey balcony of an apartment block.
A Home Office post mortem will take place to establish the cause of death.
Meanwhile, the man and woman, who were arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of controlled drugs, are being held for questioning by detectives.
The man’s next of kin have been informed and specialist family liaison officers will be supporting the family.
