SPACE are making East Village Arts Club the stop for what will hopefully be a beautiful neighbourhood gig for hometown fans next month.

Tommy Scott's marvellous combo are an astonishing 20 years old and have announced the first dates of an anniversary tour. Their hometown show is  on Friday 25 October, with support coming from Liverpool based band, The Thespians.

Platinum selling band Space brightened up the mid 1990s pop scene no end, with Female of the Species, Me and You Versus the World, Neighbourhood, Avenging Angels and The Ballad of Tom Jones. They also worked with Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews, released four studio albums and seemend to be able to do little wrong before disbanding in 2005.

The new line-up features original band members Scott (vocals/guitar) and Franny Griffiths (keyboards). Along with Phil Hartley (double bass/bass), Ryan Clarke (vintage keys) and drummer Allan Jones who will replace Andy Parle who died in 2009.

New album Attack Of The 50ft Kebab will be released next year.

“The band has evolved because we have three new younger members and I have sucked all their passion and youth out of them and made a great album.

"You can expect a battle ground of genres, from ska to post punk to easy listening all fighting together in the arena of death” says Scott.

What's stopping you?
