Alpine menu includes a vegan version of the cheesy fave

IF the Winter Olympics have inspired you to get out on the piste, look no further than Côte’s new Alpine-inspired menu to satisfy those après-ski cravings close to home.

Côte has launched what it claims to be the UK high street’s first ever vegan tartiflette

Côte is bringing the ultimate French Alpine dish to the high street in the form of a melty, gooey, cheesy tartiflette. Created by Côte’s executive chef, the simple yet iconic Alpine classic is prepared with a gratin of sliced potatoes, Comté cheese and smoked bacon lardons topped with creamy, melted farmhouse Reblochon cheese.

Each dish comes served on a wooden board alongside fresh crusty baguette, piquant cornichons, Jambon de Savoie, and a simple green salad.

Côte has also launched what it claims to be the high street’s first ever vegan tartiflette. The dairy and meat-free take on the classic recipe uses melted vegan cheese and THIS Isn't Bacon, and comes served with baguette, cornichons and side salad. THIS has become one of the nation’s most popular plant-based brands, using pea protein, soy protein and vegetable fibres to create a realistic meat alternative.

Also on the menu for plant-based diners is chou farci - a cabbage parcel filled with lentils, roasted root vegetables and apple, accompanied by crispy Lyonnaise potatoes and a Calvados jus.

Other Alpine-inspired dishes on the seasonal menu include a warm starter of crottin de chèvre - creamy baked goat’s cheese from the Centre Loire Valley, served with a lamb’s lettuce, crunchy apple, walnut and golden raisin salad, topped with croutons.

The special menu also includes a sumptuous tarte tatin, filled with sticky apples in a caramel sauce and served with a Calvados infused Chantilly cream.

If you’re looking for a cosy night in, Côte at Home has put together an Après Ski feast menu delivered direct to your door. The menu includes Côte’s tartiflette and, for those without the gear, a fondue set is available to order as an additional in-box purchase.

Côte’s sommelier has made a seasonal selection from the cellar, available in restaurant or at home, recommending the fruity Bordeaux Rouge La Réserve from the Lucien Lurton Collection as the perfect pairing for the cheesy tartiflette.
