Hot under the collar
From perfectly upstanding sculptures to beautifully well-hung wall art, the second erotic art exhibition opens this weekend at The Gallery Liverpool.
Hot on the spiked, punishing, high heels strolling down your back (that’s enough, ed) of last year's hit exhibition, it's here again, offering the discerning lover of art something meaty to get their teeth and sensibilities into.
As a bonus feature, the Erotic Awards are sharing their current international exhibition of finalists with The Gallery Liverpool and there will be a performance by the award-winning 'Mouse' whose outrageous show as Goldilocks is world-famous, apparently. She will lead the 'Sex Workers Show 'n' Tell'.
For those with an interest in developing their three-dimensional artistic skills, the private view will feature that live vaginal casting by sculptor Len Gifford, as well as live music, a transgender live art performance by Mandy Romero; and the leadership skills of dominatrix Vanessa who will steer the lost, bemused and fascinated between venues.
They are calling it the Erotic Olympiad. Let the games begin.

Subterranean Home Quarter Blues
The children of rock and roll never grow old, they just pick up a paintbrush instead.
Wall to Wall is a contemporary art gallery within The Home Quarter on Hanover Street selling original and limited edition art and sculpture.
Anyways, in something of a coup, it has landed a show of Bob Dylan's 2012 brand new release of limited edition prints
Taken from the critically acclaimed ‘The Drawn Blank Series’ – it’s all hand signed by the man himself and will be unveiled to the public for the very first time this weekend.
“This inspiring collection captures the musician’s memories and experiences, and gives a visual insight into his view of the world whilst on tour,” it says here.

Calidad Art, Design and Craft Events are now in their 3rd year and have a wealth of talented people selling their wares.
They say they offer affordable, high quality, handmade original work for the discerning buyer. No mass-produced tat, but scented candles and that.
This Friday they’re hosting an event filled with jewellery, textiles, photography, ceramics, art, papercraft, fashion accessories and yeh, scented candles.

Girl power
Apart from being the centre of the universe, Liverpool played a pivotal role in winning the Battle of the Atlantic during the Second World War.
To celebrate and find out more, go and meet Maritime’s Wren, a member of Women's Royal Naval Service (who’s really May Hatton) who will perform and tell you about the vital work carried out under the streets of the city at the secret wartime HQ on Brunswick Street.
