San Carlo reveals stunning new look ahead of opening this Friday
Traditional Italian restaurant, San Carlo, is set to reopen this Friday after its closure for refurbishment back in January. Ahead of its reopening, the restaurant has shared a series of images that show off its dramatic £3.5 million transformation.
The impressive new ground floor restaurant includes a new feature bar area where customers will be able to enjoy post dinner drinks and late lounge music on Friday and Saturday nights. The former bank vault has been remodelled into a spectacular private dining room on the lower ground floor, now known as the Rosa Room.
Even the bathrooms have been been reimagined, with the addition of a ladies powder room.
The dramatic transformation, led by Fettle, the London and LA based interior architecture and design studio, offers a spectacularly opulent and contemporary take on traditional Italian dining with elegant interiors inspired by Grand Milanese villas and gardens, drawing from the architecture of Piero Portaluppi, creating a space that has an alluring ambience and timeless sophistication.
The aesthetic of the space is synonymous with the region of Northern Italy including a palette reminiscent of the coastline, with finishes nodding to classic Italian Mid-Century furniture.
Commenting on the project, Managing Director Marcello Distefano said: “Our team have been working hard over the past few months on the stunning transformation of our much-loved Liverpool restaurant which we are incredibly proud of and excited to reveal. The new look for Liverpool really represents the evolution of San Carlo."
A rich and dramatic palette of marble, high gloss timber and brass detailing throughout San Carlo has been softened by layered mohair, leather and patterned fabric upholstery; whilst marble and timber tables, fluted oak bar stools with brass bases and green leather seats, elegant curved legged dining chairs and burnt orange leather and velvet banquette seating add opulence and sophistication throughout.
The grand re-opening will see the return of San Carlo’s traditional Italian menu. Signature favourites will make a comeback, including the spectacular ever popular - tagliolini lobster.
New Spring dishes have also been added to the menu including Baccalà e Patate - Slow cooked cod served with potato and Taggiasche olives dressed with lemon oil; Insalata Finocchio and Formaggio Caprino- a fresh summer salad served with broad beans, fennel and goats cheese dressed with extra virgin olive oil and lime; and much more such as a showstopping grand sharing pasta plate for two.
Managing Director Marcello Distefano adds: "Having been in the city for 13 years, they city holds a special place in our hearts and we cannot wait to reopen the doors and welcome in our regular and new diners to experience this new era of San Carlo Liverpool."
You can now book in to get your hands on a sharing pasta plate or to simply have a gander at the renovations here.
