IT'S being hailed as one of the biggest crowd pleasers ever staged at the Walker Art Gallery, and it comes from an Australian with a wobble board.
Rolf Harris's first UK retrospective has achieved record breaking visitor figures since opening last month, say curators, and now the star is to return to Liverpool for a special book-signing session in July.
Sandra Penketh, NML's director of art galleries said: "This has been the most popular exhibition we’ve ever staged at the Walker and we are thrilled Rolf is returning to meet visitors at the signing.”
Rolf Harris: Can You Tell What It Is Yet? is the first major UK exhibition to explore the entertainer's life and work. It features self-portraits, portraits, paintings of wildlife, urban and rural landscapes and studies of people and everyday life from home and abroad.

The original works on display range from his early days as a student to paintings he created at lightning speed in front of a TV camera. The exhibition also includes some of his most impressive and well known pieces, such as his portrait of the Queen, painted in 2005 to mark her 80th birthday.
Ms Penketh added: “Rolf’s book signing event on the opening weekend of the exhibition attracted nearly 4,000 people which was the busiest Saturday for The Walker since records began. We are sure this latest event will prove as popular.”
