Police are searching for three masked men who made off with a safe during a daring raid at the Camp & Furnace.

Details emerged today of the burglary which took place on Monday morning (November 16) at the Greenland Street bar, in Liverpool's Baltic Triangle area.

"At around 7.45 am, reports were received of four men wearing facial coverings who had arrived at the location in a silver Peugeot 308," said a Meseyside Police statement.

"Three men are believed to have got out of the car and removed a safe into the boot using a trolley jack, before making off. The car was later found on fire on Rhyl Street, off Mill Street, Toxteth. CCTV and other enquiries are ongoing in relation to the offence. "

Liverpool area Detective Inspector Sarah Kenwright said: "We are urging anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area at around this time to contact police. This was a brazen offence committed in broad daylight close to the City Centre, which left the member of staff on duty extremely shaken. There were likely to have been staff from nearby premises arriving for work and any details, however insignificant they seem, could be vital in helping our investigation."
