CHOOSE from the set menus at Spire and you don't feel restricted in the slightest, or worried you're missing out on more interesting options on the a la carte. In fact the prix fixe at Spire is nothing short of, well, inspiring.
Duck confit with harissa potatoes or crispy halloumi fritters with pomegranate would make an exciting opening to any meal so as part of a set menu, it's unmissable
The lunchtime prix fixe menu costs just £12.95 for two courses and £15.95 for three courses and is available Tuesday to Friday between midday and 2pm. The names of the dishes say it all really – Spire's posh prawn cocktail isn't about cutting corners for a cheap offer, this is a really tasty dish.
Main courses are just as appealing with intriguing plates such as wild garlic and basil linguine with asparagus, broad beans and peas or Goosnargh chicken with pancetta, avocado salad and garlic dressing.
The early evening dinner menu is equally appetising. It's available all night Monday and Tuesday to Thursday from 5.45pm to 7.30pm. For only £15.95 for two courses and £18.95 for three courses, it's outstanding value when you consider the quality of the cooking involved.
Duck confit with harissa potatoes or crispy halloumi fritters with pomegranate would make an exciting opening to any meal so as part of a set menu, it's unmissable. Main dishes continue the same standards – a millefeuille of roasted vegetables with goat's cheese and a stonking signature fish and chips dish are just two of the stand-outs on a varied menu.
If you want to experience delicious dishes but you don't want to pay posh prices, a meal at Spire fits the (surprisingly cheap) bill.
