The event will celebrate local mother-daughter partnerships and aim to inspire the next generation
To celebrate International Women’s Day 2026, Metquarter, Everyman Cinema Liverpool and Girls With Dreams Club have joined together to host a spectacular evening of empowering discussion, designed to inspire the next generation of women in Liverpool.
Taking place on Thursday 5 March at 6pm, the evening will feature a panel discussion, audience Q&A and film screening. Hosted by presenter Gemma Cutting, two inspirational mother and daughter duos will take to the stage to share insights into their personal and professional journeys, exploring their relationships, the power of cross-generational collaboration and how women can uplift and support one another at every stage of life.
Liverpool-based event entrepreneurs Angela and Harriet Maguire - founders of The Event Agency - will share insights as to what it’s like working together as a mother-daughter team in the events industry, and how their unique dynamic has influenced and shaped their business journey.
Also joining the panel are Pauline Fleming and Cornelia Nelson - co-founders of Depth Training CIC, a Liverpool-based, family-led community interest company using performance and storytelling to transform communication across healthcare, education and public services.
Pauline is a professional actor with a long career on stage and screen, including her role as Penny King in Coronation Street, and has spent nearly three decades delivering immersive medical roleplay and communication training nationwide. Working alongside her daughter Cornelia, who brings expertise from the Higher Education sector in student skills development and career readiness, the duo combine creative practice with strategic insight to deliver impactful, actor-led training.
There will be a 30-minute panel discussion which will include a Q&A section where guests will have the opportunity to ask the panelists about their careers journeys, discuss the importance of women supporting other women, and how they are helping to inspire the next generation of girls. The panel and Q&A will be followed by a screening of the feminist themed film, Barbie.
