‘Docklands, The Condo’ is the biggest room at the hotel on Old Hall Street

Hotels that get you close to the real heart and soul of a city are a rare find. INNSiDE is a hip and happening collection from Melia Hotels International which launched its first Liverpool venture in 2021. We were impressed at the first look last September. With contemporary architecture and avant-garde British style, INNSiDE Liverpool quickly established itself as one of the city’s top hotels for work, rest and play - or anything in between.

Nothing says Liverpool quite like watching the famous 'Ferry Cross the Mersey' at sunset.

The 207-bedroom hotel is now just as dazzling as the day it first opened. There are a range of spaces for guests to relax in, from the open living lounge to the panoramic Gino D’Acampo 360 Sky Bar and Secret Garden. Rooms benefit from floor-to-ceiling windows and views of the city or the River Mersey.

To mark the one year occasion in Liverpool, the hotel recently renamed its most premium suite to ‘Docklands, The Condo’ - a nod to its location overlooking the iconic Liverpool docks and waterfront. The largest suite at INNSiDE Liverpool offers views over the city and is equipped with a king-size bed, a separate lounge and dining area, making it one of the most superior suites in Liverpool.

Meliá’s philosophy is “Stay curious” which aims to accommodate guests’ every need with considered comforts and unique experiences. On personal touches, it certainly delivers. There are local guide books, a coffee maker, yoga mat, two fridges and complementary beer from Neptune Brewery.

The bathroom has both a rain shower and a bath complete with rubber ducky, fluffy robes and slippers. There’s a flat-screen TV with Chromecast for entertainment but the best thing to feast your eyes on is out those windows. (Nothing says Liverpool quite like watching the famous Ferry Cross the Mersey at sunset.)

Views are what INNSiDE Liverpool does like no other. Step out of the lift on the 17th floor into Gino’s sky bar and you’re instantly drawn to that 360 view. Looking across to New Brighton lighthouse, Stanley Dock, Anfield stadium, two cathedrals, Exchange Flags, the museums; it's like having an enormous interactive map in front of you.

Both the sky bar and hotel restaurant come under the Gino D’Acampo brand and the food and drink offering at INNSiDE Liverpool are everything you’d expect from the Italian restaurateur, whether that’s dinner or cicchetti.

Guests staying in the condo can enjoy Gino’s afternoon tea served from the comfort of your suite, with three options to choose from. Afternoon tea (£29pp), Franciacorta Rosé afternoon tea, served with a glass of Ferghettina Rosé Brut (£35pp) and Champagne afternoon tea, served with a glass of Lallier Grand Cru Brut NV (£37pp).

Presented on a tiered platter, Gino’s take on afternoon tea includes both savoury and sweet treats, including a deli selection, freshly baked scones, and a variety of mini-cakes and desserts. A pot of loose-leaf tea completes the scene with guests invited to choose from English breakfast, earl grey, camomile, green and peppermint.

Meeting rooms at INNSiDE Liverpool include The News Room, The Printing Press and The Post Room, all named as a nod to the building's history. 95 Old Hall Street was constructed in the early 1970s and home to the Post & ECHO newspaper publisher until 2018.

The condo is decorated with artwork recognising the city’s shipping industry and Liverpool’s waterfront, created by local artists. Epic views paired with some interesting local references to Liverpool’s waterfront make the suite even more of an experience.

Aside from all the luxury - the innovative bedrooms and the swanky restaurant; the funky meeting rooms and 24-hour gym - a stay at INNSiDE Liverpool really does feel like a home from home.
