Pizzas topped with chips and gravy - washed down with tequila

A LATE night bar which made its name serving pizzas covered in chips and gravy, all washed down with tequila, is to open up in Liverpool.

Crazy Pedro’s will make its first foray out of Manchester, after "waiting for ages" for the perfect site in Liverpool. That site has now been found - a lock up in Parr Street which will become Ropewalks' “part-time pizza parlour and full-time party bar” with a roof terrace and seating for 100 people.

The new venue, which boasts the largest selection of tequila and mezcal outside of Mexico, sits next door to the Brink, the UK’s first dry bar for recovering addicts.It is also a hop and a skip from another successful Manchester export, Almost Famous, which came to the city in 2013.

Spread over two floors and 2,500 sq feet, Crazy Pedro’s is fully owned by The Liars Group’s Ross Mackenzie, Lyndon Higginson and Jobe Ferguson who are responsible for 10 of Manchester’s most popular bars including The Black Dog Ballroom, The Liars Club, Cane and Grain and Science and Industry.

Crazy Pedro's is expected to open this autumn, following building work and a refit to bring the venue in-line with its two other sites in the Northern Quarter and Bridge Street.

Higginson said: “We’re really excited to bring our brand to Liverpool, we love the city and love bars like Salt Dogs Slims, Berry & Rye and El Bandito, and now we can’t wait to be operating here. We’ve been waiting for the perfect site in Liverpool for ages and we know we’ve found it on Parr Street.

Established in 2014, Crazy Pedro’s USP is based on pizzas topped with such delights as sushi, chips, cheese and gravy and Cadbury’s Creme Eggs.  Mersey punters can expect the same, they say, with a few extra specialities created in tribute to Liverpool.

TIME magazine recently included Crazy Pedro’s in a listicle of 12 of the World’s Craziest Pizzas for its 'I am the resurEGGtion', creation covered with chocolate sauce, sprinkled with marshmallows, brownie, meringue and topped with a soft Creme Egg.

Crazy Pedro’s will be situated at 25 Parr Street, Liverpool, L1 4JN and will open seven days per week from 12pm-4am from early autumn. Here's the website
