YOU can run but you can't hide...

One might be forgiven for thinking that Merseyrail has suddenly opened a new station called Stanley Park. Or that the Mighty Reds have taken to spending their money on passengers rather than players.

In fact you'd be miles wrong, more than 3,000 miles wrong; the stars and stripes give it away.

For this Liverpool FC subway car is ferrying commuters from Times Square to Grand Central in New York City.

And just to complete the picture, straight down the line we have a rather suave looking Everton FC train carriage too.

It's a clever piece of marketing by TV network NBC to ensure native New Yorkers know the score by tuning into its new $250 million coverage of the English Premiership which begins this weekend.

The subway cars instruct passengers to “Keep Calm and Pick......” followed by the name of the team which can be Liverpool, Everton, Spurs, Arsenal and the two Manchester sides. Once inside, seats are decked out in the livery of the team and travellers are invited to “pick a side”.

The subway car doors say “Liverpool/Everton Fans Enter Here,” which might flummox those who aren’t soccer fans.

Indeed, the only Suarez in Manhattan is a rather pricey handbag shop on the Upper West Side (insert wry comparison here).
