Waterfront restaurant promises fresh food, fab drinks and great views
The Liverpool waterfront is one of the most stunning, eye-opening, jaw-dropping, breathtaking places in the world. If you live here, then you'll know that already - but sometimes it’s nice to just sit back and appreciate how damn fine this city is.
With a sun-trap terrace and great views, this place could become our new favourite waterfront bar
The Three Graces are as iconic as the Seven Wonders of the World. In fact, they should really be the eighth. Set within the irrepressible open space of the Pier Head and a stone’s throw from the River Mersey, this part of Liverpool really is something very special. Drop in, park your bum somewhere and just BREATHE.
On top of that, you’ll find some cracking attractions and cultural hotspots to dip in and out of - the Museum of Liverpool, British Music Experience, Mersey Ferries, Royal Liver Building 360 and Open Eye Gallery are all right here and ideal for explorers of all ages.
Making waves
Liverpool will make waves once again this summer, as cruise ships return to the city for the first time in 14 months. The cruise terminal at Princes Parade is expecting around 80 cruise ships with inaugural visits from MSC Virtuosa, Marella Explorer and the much-acclaimed Anthem of the Seas, boasting the world's tallest viewing deck.
If you want to escape the crowds of the Royal Albert Dock, Liverpool's Pier Head also boasts some cool places to eat and drink, including Mrs Danvers, Brasco Lounge and Matou. And now a new kid on the block has opened at Mann Island which could well become our go-to place for all-day dining, after-work drinks and weekend socializing.
Outdoor drinks
& Company launches on Wednesday 26 May and is further proof that hospitality in Merseyside is bouncing back. With a sun-trap terrace showcasing some of the best views in the city, this brand new bar and kitchen looks like it's going to be up there with the best places to eat and drink in Liverpool.
From early doors, the coffee machine is on for breakfast and brunch with the kitchen ready to jumpstart your day with fresh, hearty plates. Lunch includes seasonal specials, classics and salad bowls at their best. Nibbles and small plates range from rosemary focaccia and nocellara olives to soy and ginger beef, charcoal cauliflower, and grilled halloumi.
Sourdough pizzas are a speciality; choose from the likes of pepperoni and hot honey; sausage, fennel and apple; barbecued pulled chicken and pineapple; and nduja and pimento pepper. Gluten-free bases and vegan mozzarella can be substituted on request.
Gluten-free options
When it comes to big plates you’ve got classic burgers, breaded Milanese chicken, and hanger steak with red pepper romesco, tenderstem and chimichurri. We’ve also got our eye on the chipotle hummus and avocado sandwich. And yes, gluten-free bread is available too.
The drinks list kicks off with a range of fresh juices and there's an extensive fizz and wine list. Classic cocktails include the paloma, mai tai, bellini and pornstar martini. They also do a hazelnut old-fashioned and a tonka espresso martini, which adds the exotic almond flavour of tonka beans. That might sound nuts but it certainly beats a packet of trail mix for breakfast.
From cocktail concoctions from the far corners of the globe, wines from renowned vineyards across the Atlantic, and the best lagers, ales and ciders that this country has to offer, the bar has got your tipple of choice catered for.
