Family-run Indian restaurant opens on The Royal Albert Dock
Delhi House Cafe has opened its second site and chosen well with the picturesque surroundings of The Royal Albert Dock.
The family-run Indian restaurant opened first in Manchester’s Corn Exchange in 2020 and when choosing its second site landed on Liverpool’s historic dock.
Created by the Lamba family after relocating from Delhi to Manchester, the restaurant became renowned for its signature dish, Mom’s Butter Chicken Tikka Masala, created by Head of Kitchen, Rajinder Lamba.
With the 120-cover restaurant now open on Royal Albert Dock, the Lamba family have said they can’t wait to serve their take on modern Indian cuisine to the people of Liverpool.
“My family and I are very excited to have opened our doors in Liverpool,” said Preen Lamba, Manager and Head of Marketing. “The Royal Albert Dock is such a special location and we couldn’t be happier with our new home for Delhi House.
“We can’t wait for the people of Liverpool to get a taste for our modern Indian dishes and are interested to see which ones you’ll all like most. In Manchester, the cult favourite is our Mom’s Buttered Chicken Tikka Masala which we proudly serve between 450-500 portions of per week!
“We’re really excited to welcome you all to dine with us and hope you love Delhi House as much as we do.”
I was kindly invited down for the opening night, and here’s a taste of the interiors and a few of the dishes on offer.
