FANCY dessert chain Haute Dolci have set up shop in The Light cinema and shopping complex, and you may well have been lucky enough to get your hands on a key to the first fortnight’s soft launch exclusives through their website and social media accounts.

If you haven’t managed to win your real-life version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’s golden ticket though, fear not: once the restaurant is fully open to the public, there’s plenty to look forward to for those with a sweet tooth.
The international-inspired menu includes American pancakes, Belgian waffles and French crêpes, and the showstopper: chocolate on tap. Yes, you heard us. There will also be shakes and sundaes, plus a range of vegan and gluten-free desserts. A seating area is complemented by two private dining rooms, and the takeaway service will undoubtedly be popular with late-night snackers piling out of the pictures.
The new restaurant will be the ninth in the growing Haute Dolci chain, with venues in places including Manchester, Leicester and Coventry already open, and London and Birmingham in the running, according to the company’s website.
