KHANA Bombay Café, a 'new style' of Indian restaurant by Adam Karim, the owner of Manchester's Don Giovanni restaurant and the co-founder of Rosso (along with former Leeds and Man United star Rio Ferdinand), is to open in the former ASK Italian site on North Lane.

Karim said Khana, with it's vintage decor and small tapas-style dishes, has aims of "blowing all stereotypes of Indian restaurants right out of the Tandoor".

He said: “Expect to find delights such as apple samosas and real, traditional Indian food which really set Khana Bombay Café apart from what we would expect at most UK Indian restaurants."

Khana will also boast local craft beers, DJs, Carrom boards (an Indian take on pool) and a lounge bar serving cocktails designed by Leeds’ The Hedonist Project.
