SOME news from Elland Road this morning in the form of a new transfer - former England goalkeeper Rob Green has signed to Leeds United on a one-year contract.

Whether the 36 year-old is set to make the first team is yet to me seen

Green was signed as a free agent after being released by Queens Park Rangers at the end of the 15/16 season. His move to Leeds is the latest in a career which has seen him between the sticks for West Ham, Norwich, as well as earning twelve caps for England.

“I’m thrilled to be here.” he told the Leeds United website. “This is one of the opportunities where the call is very quick - it was a ‘Yes’ straight away”

Whether the 36 year-old is set to make the first team is yet to me seen, however he sounds content with his place in the squad.

“I’ve spoken to the manager and I know what he’s got in store and what he’s planning. What he said really resonated with me, and reaffirmed my feelings towards this opportunity.”
