LONDON-based Belgian restaurant and boulangerie Le Pain Quotidien has announced a move into Leeds, as part of the new Victoria Gate development.

Starting in 1990 by Belgian chef Alain Coumot, the restaurant has evolved over the past 25 years

Opening in October, the restaurant will span two floors with an additonal retail area on the ground floor selling patisserie and deli items with an organic wine bar upstairs.

As for the restaurant itself, Quotidien prides itself on fresh breads, pastries, salads, tartines and seasonal hot dishes, catering to both vegans and carnivores.

We reckon the relaxed, continental ambience will be a welcome break mid-shopping spree, and guests will have the option of some alone time or to grab a seat at a communal table - a common feature across all Le Pain Quotidien’s venues.

Starting in 1990 by Belgian chef Alain Coumot, the restaurant has evolved over the past 25 years from an organic bakery located in a flea market, to a global brand with over 200 restaurants in seventeen countries, but the concept and commitment to simplicity has remained the same.

Leeds’ expanding community was a natural next step for the company. "With a burgeoning food scene and a fantastic, engaged community full of vibrant people of all ages, we are delighted to be part of the Leeds neighbourhood,” says Peter Jenkins, Managing Director.
