Aldi you're doing amazing sweetie
Budget supermarket Aldi is the undisputed champion of show-stopping seasonal specials. Last week they announced they would be the first supermarket in the country to sell prosecco in 3-litre Jeroboam bottles, or their £10 gin which happens to be one of the best in the world. Don’t even get me started on their middle aisle - where you can you pick up everything from hot-tubs to drones just metres away from a butternut squash?
But they’ve just gone and topped all of that with the announcement that throughout winter, they’re stocking a Yorkshire Pudding burrito.
Stuffed with slow-cooked beef brisket in mushroom sauce and served with red wine and onion gravy, it’s more of a Beef Wellignton than a burrito if we’re being picky. Saying that, we’re both sat here getting excited about a frozen Yorkshire Pudding pudding ready meal, so I don’t think either of us are picky...
Priced at £7.99 it’s a bit more expensive than the version you can get from pudding-wrap pioneers The Yorkshire Wrap Company in Kirkgate Market, however Aldi’s beast supposedly feed five people.
After doing the usual recommended-serving-size-to-real-life-portion adjustment, we reckon you should at least be able to get a decent tea out of it with enough leftover for breakfast the day after. Don’t look at me like that.
