Leeds has a great craft beer scene, with some excellent independent shops and bars selling great beer all year round.” says Matt Long of Brewers Market - the annual two-day beer festival returning to Canal Mills for its third year later this month.

The aim is to gather the great aspects of the craft beer world and mix it in with local street food, DJs, and live art to really showcase the very best of Leeds.

During three sessions spread across the Friday and Saturday, the multi-purpose venue will host old favourites Northern Monk, Five Points, and Tall Boys Beer Market, as well as some new names like Cloudwater, Magic Rock, and North Brewing Co.

“This year we will have more breweries than ever before, with some old friends returning alongside some breweries which we've never had before.” Matt adds. “We've even got some breweries brewing brand new beers ahead of Brewers Market, so we can't wait to sample those!”

The full lineup also includes national and international breweries like Alphabet Brewery, Black Lodge, Sierra Nevada, Yeastie Boys, Fullers, Zapato, Four Pure, and Vertical Drinks. As well as craft beer, there’s a wide range of drinks on offer including a prosecco bar, and cocktails from The Hedonist Project.

“Leeds has a great community, so we're excited about bringing that all together for one weekend. The aim is to gather the great aspects of the craft beer world and mix it in with local street food outlets, local DJs and local live art to really showcase the very best of food, drink and art in Leeds.”

Lining your stomachs for these sessions will be the likes of Parm Star’s gourmet parmos, and burgers from Fat Hippo - winners of Canal Mills’ Battle of the Burger last year, ahead of the opening of their new Leeds restaurant.

“We've had comments from regulars saying that it gets better every year so we're hoping to go one up again and make it the best one yet!”
