There’s only one direction - and that’s St John’s Precinct
TALENTED Liverpool artists and singers are to be given the chance at the big time when the X Factor auditions come to Liverpool next week.
But this is no big stadium event like X Factor auditions of yore. There will be no swaying masses cheering or jeering your efforts. You won’t see Ant and Dec for dust. Nor will Simon Cowell, or whoever else judges it these days, be in attendance.
Time and TV crews is money, so instead of heading for the Echo Arena get down to St Johns Precinct, home of the Aldi and Argos, and shake your booty in the show’s mobile booth.
Auditions for the ITV talent contest will take place each day from Thursday, April 27 to Sunday, April 30, as the search for the next big record company collateral begins.
No registration is required, say producers, however hopefuls are advised to arrive early to secure a slot in the booth - as the mobile auditions are on a first come first served basis.
They say this is to cope with "high demand", however a similar audition campaign in the regions last year was dogged by newspaper reports of poor turnouts.
Anyroad, Rebecca Ferguson, Harry Styles and Honey G wannabes should rock up at the unit next to Home and Bargain, on the first floor of the centre. from 9am-6pm each day except Sunday, when the booth will be open from 11am-5pm,
St Johns Shopping Centre Manager Robert Bradley said: “We’re proud to become a hub for local musical talent for events like this and we want to wish all of the participants lots of luck and success next week.”
Successful contestants will be given the chance to audition in front of the X Factors judges this summer.
Applicants to the process must be 16 or over to audition and it’s essential that they are accompanied by a parent or guardian if under the age of 18. Contestants must bring photo ID and anybody wishing to audition who is in full-time education must attend after 4.30pm.
