SOME restaurants are worth travelling for. Opera Grill in Chester looks set to be one of them.
Housed in a grade II-listed, neo-classical building that's been restored to dramatic effect by restaurant group Individual Restaurants, it's designed to impress. Set over two opulent floors, it features a raw bar, cold counter, charcoal grill, wood-fired oven, three cocktail bars, and an all-weather roof terrace.
Reports from our writers say the food lives up to the grand surroundings. It's an internationally-inspired menu of salt-aged steaks, fresh fish and seafood, inspired salads, and hot plates from the wood-fired oven. Cocktails are made using cold pressed fruits, vegetables and herb juices.
Opera Grill also features 'The Music Lounge' – a stage set for live acts including a house band on Wednesday evenings and a gospel choir every Sunday.
Live music or not, a night here will be one to remember. Make a plan to go – and enter the competition below for dinner on the house.
