ALBERT Dock will be the backdrop for the 25th birthday celebrations of ITV’s This Morning programme in October – which will see the show broadcast live from the city for one day only.
'Holly And Philip'The special two-hour show will take place on Thursday, 3 October, and will feature a live guest appearance from the show’s original hosts, husband and wife team Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan.
Richard and Judy will join the show’s current hosts, Phillip Schofield, Holly Willoughby, Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, as well as a number of celebrity guests, for a special programme to celebrate its Silver Anniversary – which also coincides with special anniversaries for Albert Dock and Tate Liverpool.
This Morning was launched in Liverpool in 1988, broadcasting live from its Albert Dock location for eight years until 1996. It was a victim of its own success. The bigger the show got, the bigger the guest names. But many of them were unwilling or unable to travel to Liverpool for the live shows and so it was with some reluctance, at the time, that production switched to London.
Happier timesThis Morning’s editor, Adam Vandermark, said: “Our whole family of talent are really excited about this special anniversary show – there’ll be plenty of surprises and memories shared, and it’s going to be extra special returning to where it all started.”
The show will see the return of the famous floating weather map especially for the occasion – this time fronted by prankster and friend of the show, Keith Lemon.
Why, oh why, Fred?
