Sheridan swipes another plaudit for his Merseyside mini-empire

Wait around a few weeks and Andrew Sheridan will scoop a Michelin award.

Now his Oxton bistro OXA has been listed in the latest Michelin guide not long after his fine dining restaurant 8 by Andrew Sheridan in Liverpool was slotted into the guide.

And by the way, do not under pain of 20% being added to your bill pronounce OXA as a two syllable word. You must pronounce the letters separately O-X-A. Andrew Sheridan says it like that and so shall all the rest of us.

OXA has only been opened for a few weeks and so for it to be already listed by Michelin is incredible

Here comes the PR.

'8 By Andrew Sheridan was one of just 12 new restaurants to be listed by Michelin in its August update. 8 also won Restaurant of the Year at the British Restaurant Awards earlier in the month and was one of just 28 new restaurants in the UK to receive three AA Rosettes on Monday (September 25, 2023) night.'

Sheridan says: “OXA has only been opened for a few weeks and so for it to be already listed by Michelin is incredible. I’d like to thank head chef Jake Smith and his team for all their hard work.

“We’ve recently changed our menu focusing on local seasonal ingredients, and feedback from customers has been brilliant.”

OXA features dishes such as stone bass with mussels and pickled fennel, and lamb with cauliflower, wild garlic and lamb fat carrot.
