What's the view like from the new Novotel? No idea
Liverpool’s tallest hotel, featuring 16-storeys, 221 bedrooms and its own branch of Bean Coffee, is now open in Paddington Village. What's the view like from the new Novotel? *Checks notes* No idea, because we didn't get any pics. Hmm. But we did get sent some photos of the inside, so we'll show you those instead.
Bean Coffee and Love Lane Brewery will bring that quality, authentic Scouse experience to our guests.
Novotel Liverpool Paddington Village is the flagship hotel for the new £1bn Paddington Village development in the Knowledge Quarter. The hotel was constructed by Morgan Sindall Construction and is owned by Liverpool City Council, franchised by Accor and managed by Legacy Hotels & Resorts on the council’s behalf.
The Liverpool Echo reports that Novotel Liverpool Paddington Village has cost the local authority around £43m, according to initial estimates.
The new hotel has been designed by Ryder Architecture, with Faithful+Gould acting as project managers. It features the latest facilities for business and leisure travellers, from meeting and conferencing areas to a children’s recreational space in the lobby, destination restaurant and gymnasium, as well as offering 360-degree views of the city and beyond. Any pics of that view? Nope. Oh well.
The ground floor coffee shop is stocked up by Liverpool-based independent, Bean Coffee, who is also supplying its coffee throughout the hotel, including the guest bedrooms. Love Lane Brewery has also joined forces with the new hotel to offer guests its Liverpool-made craft beers. Other local delights come from the likes of Murphy's Gin and Vodka, Rascal Gin, Zest Limoncello and Liverpool Lost Dock Rum.
Another key feature of the hotel is its 32 long-stay, apartment-style rooms, aimed at patients, students and relatives attending the nearby hospitals and universities. The studio rooms feature a superking bed, double sofa bed and kitchenette, plus an en-suite bathroom with rain shower; studio accommodation listed for Saturday 8 July at time of writing starts at £238.55 for members.
Novotel Liverpool Paddington Village is the first hotel in the UK to feature the brand’s new global design concept by the internationally-renowned Sundukovy Sisters. Twins Irina and Olga Sundukovy have completed projects with top-end restaurateurs and hoteliers across Russia, Europe, the USA, the Middle East, and Asia.
Howard Lewis, general manager at Novotel Liverpool Paddington Village, said that he is thrilled to finally be able to reveal what the hotel will look like inside.
Howard said, "Most important to me is that guests come here and know they are in Liverpool. That is why we are so excited to announce new partnerships with local businesses such as Bean Coffee and Love Lane Brewery, who will bring that quality, authentic Scouse experience to our guests, whether they are staying with us for a business trip, or simply popping into the lobby for a cup of coffee and a catch-up with a friend.
“It is essential that we support our local suppliers, and we are actively looking to work with other local companies over the coming months."
At 30 acres, Paddington Village, which was once the site of a now relocated secondary school, is being developed by Liverpool City Council in three phases: Paddington Central, Paddington South and Paddington North.
A new 14-storey car park on the Elm Grove site within Paddington Village Central was also recently completed. Comprising 13 levels for parking and a combined heat and power (CHP) energy centre, the car park was designed by KKA and built by Morgan Sindall. The cladding design is said to be an abstract representation of the nearby Williamson Tunnels.
Novotel, which has over 530 locations in more than 60 countries is part of Accor, a world leading hospitality group counting over 5,300 properties throughout more than 110 countries.
