If you’ve got a pre-nuptial gastronome on your hands, we’ve got your agenda covered.
Best Men and Maids of Honour, assemble because we’re about to make your job real easy if you’re on the hunt for some food-based organised fun in Liverpool. Stag dos and hen parties don’t have to be all about fancy dress and inflatable genitalia, after all. There are bars, venues and nightclubs aplenty if you want to tick those boxes too but for the love of God, line your stomach with something a little more sophisticated first. So, if you’ve got a pre-nuptial gastronome on your hands, we’ve got your agenda covered.
Pasta-making with Flour Will Fly
Start your celebrations in style with an Italian cooking workshop a la Flour Will Fly. Choose from three classes: Introduction to Pasta-Making, Cannoli Siciliani or Tortellini & Sauce. Whichever one you go for; you’ll be treated to a lesson in Italian heritage and “a welcome return to the childlike glee of getting messy in the kitchen”. All classes come complete with a drink on arrival, finger food to snack on and a second drink during the break.
Word to the wise: get yourself booked in pronto because this pasta masterclass is popular to say the least. Another word to the wise: get your designated driver to drop your handmade pasta off home. Don’t go dancing around it in Concert Square after one too many Proseccos.
Cuban cocktail-making and tapas at Revolución de Cuba
You’ve downed enough daiquiris by now but can you muddle your own mojito? It’s time to put yourself and your fellow stag/hen revellers to the test. Shake, stir and sip your way through 90 minutes of Cuban cocktail-making at Revs de Cuba down at the Royal Albert Dock. Between learning the tricks of the trade and a whole host of fiesta games to keep the fun flowing, scoff a selection of Cuban bar snacks and feast on a spread of authentic tapas dishes. Leave with a head full of knowledge about Cuban food and drink, which you’ll hopefully still remember by morning.
Private dining at Lu Ban
Looking to book a bit of a boujie affair? A Lu Ban private dining room is the place to be if you want fine dining over feather boas. The exclusive space comfortably accommodates eight to 14 guests, snuggled away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough for the energy of the vibrant restaurant to filter through. You can even bring your own music and (tasteful) decorations to set the scene for your evening of acclaimed food and refined cocktails. Fancy something even more intimate? Check out the Chef’s Table experience, perfect for six people (or less).
