ATTILLIO Sergi, owner of Old Hall Street's Trattoria 51, will be gagging - in a good way -  in his popular Southport branch  later this month.

The Italian-born restaurateur will be tickling the ribs of his customers when he performs his stand up routine of jokes as part of the resort's upcoming comedy festival.

Steve Royle, Brendan Riley and Jamie Sutherland, will also appear on the bill on the Tuesday, October 20 date at Trattoria 51 on The Promenade.

Atillio is no stranger to comedy and last year was coached, over six weeks, in the arts of japery by Riley for a performance which saw him raise funds for Claire House children's hospice.

Now he has been picked by festival producers Big Comedy to act as this year’s special guest.

Attilio said: “The whole team at Trattoria 51 are really looking forward to hosting the evening with Big Comedy. I am really looking forward to hosting an evening with Brendan, who coached me last year, alongside the witty Jamie and Steve.

“In particular, I’m looking forward to performing for a live audience again and introducing them to what Trattoria 51 has to offer. We will also be serving up a classic two-course meal for all of our guests ahead of the performances.”
