Rock n’ Roll Waves

From Versace to Calvin Klein, Rock n’ Roll Waves have been an iconic look on many catwalks this season. A huge trend for 2013, taking inspiration from 90s grunge, gives hair a tousled effect that hints at a natural ‘no-effort’ style. In reality we know better and creating this look takes some practice!

Curling the hair around a pair of GHD‘s or a curling wand can create this style as the curls are then brushed out with the tips of your fingers leaving a messier and softer feel.

Ombre
Last year the two-toned heads of ombre had a huge presence and this year it’s only going to get bigger.

Caroline Flack OmbreCaroline Flack Caroline Flack’s ombre hair is a gorgeous example but it’s not just natural colours that are in for 2013 but also pastels and bright hues too.

The Fringe
Thick, blunt, and long is the key to a fringe in 2013 – preferably sweeping the top of the eyes.  With a messy, textured, bohemian edge or an aura of ’60s glamorous nonchalance – both looks have been seen in collections from US Vogue’s January ’13 edition.

Getting the right fringe for your face shape is key, so book in with a reputable stylist to discuss your options. Anyone  If you’re not sure whether a fringe is practical for you why not do a Kim Kardashian and fake it with a hair piece.

Long Hair
Extra Long Hair

Like the classic bob, extra-long length is a great way for a haircut to make a big impact. The trend on the runways for 2013 suggest a hair length that just reaches or covers the breasts – think mythological, ancient goddesses and mermaids.

If you’re lucky enough to have this sort of length already then very long hair in 2013 can be cut in two main ways: blunt, or layered. Both can work equally well so have a chat to your stylist to see which one will suit your hair type the best.

If you want to add length to your life then hair extensions from Dianne Marshall and Easilocks which are quickly becoming two of the most popular brands on the market. Easilocks use 100pc human hair and no heat, glue, braiding or sewing so that the individual extensions feel lightweight and natural as they are evenly spread across your head.

The Modern Man
Mens Hair 3
Men’s hair trends differ from women’s as they are much more classic and long lasting compared to women’s which can change every single season. The key to a great hair cut is keeping the style well-groomed and choosing products that complement the style you have gone for.
