CONFIDENTIAL PROMOTION
SOMETIMES, after work, heading out for dinner seems more trouble than it's worth. You settle down, you get comfy and that's it. But there's still dinner to make and dishes to do. Staying in is not the new going out. It's just staying in.
Hang up the tea towel and head out
The early evening prix fixe menu at Spire is well worth getting off your sofa for, no matter how comfortable it is. That's because Spire is somewhere you'll feel at home. It's a friendly restaurant that's comfortable and relaxing yet it's also pretty smart too.
It's an everyday dining room but the abstract art, light colours and exposed bricks mean it's the sort we all aspire to, fresh from the pages of an interiors magazine.
However, it's the cooking that will lure you back to Spire time and time again. Whatever you were going to prepare at home, the prix fixe menu at Spire will knock spots off it. Owner and Chef Matt Locke is the holder of a Food Hero Award from the Metro Food and Drink Awards and you can see why.
It's not just about the awards, numerous though they are, but the quality of the ingredients and the locally-sourced produce which lift every dish above and beyond what you'd expect from your neighbourhood restaurant. Every area needs a place like Spire.
For just £15.95 for two courses or £18.95 for three courses, you can enjoy delicious, interesting dishes like duck confit with harissa potatoes, watercress and Moroccan dressing or Spire's signature fish and chips with fresh peas and mayonnaise.
The prix fixe menu is available all evening on Mondays and between 5.45pm and 7.30pm Tuesday to Thursday so hang up the tea towel and head out.
