Special Italian food, cocktails and wine
Nothing says winter fun like seeing all your friends or family round a table, passing plates and needing to order another bottle of wine.
Luca Italian in Allerton, Liverpool and also in Ormskirk are the ideal venues for all your seasonal get-togethers with a new menu of Italian small plates that are perfect for sharing, picking at and grazing over together.
The Luca Negroni Bar is a real treat
The new dishes are a perfect mix of Italian year-round classics and the sort of food that seems to warm your very marrow. It’s winter cooking that leaves you drooling just looking at the menu.
Confidential favourites include the ‘nduja and buffalo mozzarella bruschetta and the fritto misto – and that’s just for starters.
Top picks for main courses are probably the prosciutto-wrapped Scottish salmon that comes with an amazing potato and pancetta hash, the crispy breaded goats cheese salad with walnuts and fig or the lamb tagliatelle bolognaise, a richer, more decadent take on the classic ragù.
However, the absolute Confidential favourite is the picanha steak with a gorgonzola and caramelised onion crust, pickled cabbage, roast mushroom and parsley salad and a red wine jus. Steak is a mainstay of any menu but this is something special that really stands out.
Luca is a welcoming restaurant for families too and if your little ones haven’t got the taste for sharing mussels diavola yet, there’s a great new kids menu too.
And if you’re planning a social evening of pleasant chat and arguing over the last piece of venison sausage, make sure you try one of Luca’s Negronis.
The Luca Negroni Bar is a real treat with the classic Italian cocktail facing stiff competition from a White Negroni, a Grapefruit Negroni and a Oaxacan Negroni with Mezacal.
