The newly renovated Epstein Theatre is to become the latest venue for Laughterhouse Comedy’s ever expanding comedy nights.

The former Neptune Theatre, has recently had £1m spent on it and is now operated by Liverpool Sound City. The venue joins the Slaughterhouse, Slug and Lettuce and Knowlsey Leisure and Culture Park to Laughterhouse's roster of venues.

The season kicks off with a “Scouse Comedy Special” at the end of the month.

What it perhaps lacks in imaginative title it makes up for in wit.

Hosted by Chris Cairns, the line-up features such sterling city favourites as the award winning Neil Fitzmaurice, Keith Carter as ‘Nige’, Ste Porter and the exiled but marvellous Silky.

How much more mirth can you take in one sitting?

Paula Harrington, Director of Laughterhouse Comedy said "Laughterhouse are delighted to be programming comedy into The Epstein Theatre.  This stage has played hosts to many great comedians including Bill Hicks, Steve Coogan and even Arthur Askey during its Neptune Theatre incarnation and we are keen to bring the very best live stand up comedy from TV names to up and coming acts.

“This space is perfect for comedy - while the stage is grand, the auditorium has the intimate atmosphere that comedy needs to thrive."
