MANCHESTER'S King Street has been looking desolate for some time now. What was once one of the busiest shopping streets in the city centre now appears tired and run down with many units standing vacant.
The public are being asked to decide which Manchester charity will benefit from the new Kings Street store.
With more shops comes, hopefully, more spending and more revenue for the city economy. So it's welcome news that fashion and lifestyle store White Stuff is to open their first Manchester standalone store.
White Stuff will offer menswear, womenswear and homeware
The new White Stuff shop will open in August and will occupy a unit of 2,868 square feet. The shop will be set over two floors and feature a mix of menswear, womenswear and homeware.
The brand is already stocked as a concession in various department stores including John Lewis and House of Fraser, as well as having 90 stores across the UK. This will be their first shop in Manchester.
White Stuff shops are described as being "renowned for their unique interiors" and have stated they will endeavour to restore period features where possible.
The Manchester shop has unearthed reclaimed wooden floors, vintage wall paper, glazed brick walls, metal bulkheads and fireplaces, some of which have been hidden under various shop refits over the years.
All White Stuff shops support a local charity and host regular fundraising events. The public are being asked to decide which Manchester charity will benefit from the new King Street store. The two shortlisted charities are Greater Manchester Youth Network (GMYN) and Wood Street Mission.
We reckon you should vote for the latter. This is a cracking charity which does fine work with kids in the region. They would really appreciate the support and it would help them to continue with helping young people.
