PINK is a girl's favourite colour, or so we hear. Pink nail polish, pink lipstick, pink dresses, pink shoes and now you can even get your own pink bag for all your pink gym kit, thanks to Manchester fitness brand Jimbag.

"Everytime someone buys a pink Jimbag they will be helping the fight against the disease plus at the same time they will be spreading the word."

Jimbag, founded by Spinningfields Pure Gym personal trainer Anthony Bingham and backed by investor John Daddow, has teamed up with Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention to launch a pink gym bag with half the proceeds going directly towards vital research by the charity.

Currently statistics show that one in ten women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention have made it their aim to take that figure from one in ten to none in ten. An admirable goal and one that has seen many brands and celebrities join in and support. Since the charity began in 1997 there has been over £7 million raised to fund their work and development, including the building of The Nightingale Centre and Genesis Prevention Centre in Wythenshawe.

Bingham was inspired by the work Genesis had previously done and the new pink gym bag is hoping to target the younger audience and raise further awareness of the charity's cause. "We all want to see the time when there is a cure for breast cancer and Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention is a huge part of making that happen," said Bingham.

The pink Jimbag campaign is fronted by breast cancer survivor Emma Neville, a 24-year-old from Withington. "People tend to associate breast cancer with older women but that isn't the case," explained Neville. "I hope that seeing me in Jimbag's photos will help convey the message that younger women can also be directly affected by the disease.

"Keeping fit and healthy is something that Genesis encourages, since it is one of the factors which helps prevent the development of breast cancer."

Jimbag has been trading for just over a year and has already won many fans including Amir Khan and Beyoncé, who both own pieces from the Jimbag range.

The pink Genesis bag costs £45, with half the retail price going directly to the charity. "This is the first time we have created a pink bag," added Bingham. "Our other colours range from red, navy, beige and black. I think it will be a real hit with gym-goers and the fashion conscious alike."
