MANCHESTER city centre will be hosting a new craft and fashion market on Saturday 4 February.

Piccadilly by Design will be taking over Piccadilly Gardens from 10am-5.30pm and will feature a collection of stalls selling handmade goods, tasty treats and unique items of clothing.

"Manchester has a fantastic selection of specialist markets and Piccadilly by Design is an exciting addition to our programme."

Pick up some vintage inspired handmade jewellery at Ruby Tuesday, or a glamorous glass-work piece from Mother Said I Never Should.

For handmade household goods the Shabby But Chic stall is a fantastic place to pick up a one-of-a-kind gift.

Original mounted photography by Charlotte Newton, pop record clocks from Popster and a selection of individually designed clothing are just some of the other custom-made products on offer.

If all that shopping and browsing builds up your appetite, there are also food stalls on hand catering for all the gourmets out there. There will be a selection of sugary delights from Sweet Octopus, which will be selling handmade Japanese cakes and desserts, cup cakes from Annie’s Cakery and authentic Thai and Cantonese cuisine from Buddha Lounge Restaurant.

Councillor Paul Andrews, Executive Member for Neighbourhood Services, said: "With its focus on independent designers and crafts people, Piccadilly by Design is certain to offer something a little different. Manchester has a fantastic selection of specialist markets and Piccadilly by Design is an exciting addition to our programme."

And if you are a designer, cake maker, crafty creative, you can also get involved by contacting the Specialist Markets team. You can contact them on 0161 234 7356.

The first Piccadilly by Design market will take place on Saturday 4 February from 10am-5.30pm. The market will then continue to run on the first Saturday of every month.
