COME Halloween there’ll be the usual costume capers falling out of the city centre's bars and clubs.
Scream masks, a few hundred 'sexy' devils, fewer 'sexy' angels, a lot more 'sexy' cats, the Zombie guy, the half-arsed bedsheet ghost, The Spice Girls will reform and all the vampires will come out to play.
"Be excited about painting your face, whether it be a little dusting of black glitter, or a full-on deathly face, try something new and be inspired."
Many are guilty of being a little predictable when it comes to Halloween make-up and, for some of us, a few whisker stripes with black eyeliner is all the creativity we can muster.
Body Confidential’s new resident Manchester make-up artist, Frankie Noone, has pulled out her full kit and waved her dextorous hand to create a bunch of fun Halloween looks to inspire people to get creative.
She said: “As a make-up artist Halloween is my favourite time of year. I want my Halloween makeup to put across creativity; be excited about painting your face, whether it be a little dusting of black glitter, or a full-on deathly face, try something new and be inspired."
Here's Frankie Noone's Top 5 Halloween looks:
1. THE DEAD DOLL
"Keep hair tousled and add big lashes to emphasize that wide-eyed expression."
TIP: "Eldora False Lashes have so many different styles, some amazing for halloween. "
2. THE SEXY CAT (Well, if you're going to do it anyway...)
"This is not my preferred style of Halloween makeup. However, 'The Cat' is probably the most popular. This style is inspired by the movie Mean Girls. I've added dramatic winged eyeliner, with a double-ended flick in the inner and outer corner. To make the look more gothic and less girly, I've added a dark purple lip."
TIP: "The 'Liquidlast' eyeliner by MAC (£15.50) is best for staying on and does not move. For lips, try 'Nightmoth' Lipliner also by MAC."
Halloween's most popular look, 'The Sexy Cat'
3. CRYING BLOOD
"There are aspects of this make-up that are really beautiful - especially the blood red lips and winged smokey eyes. The bleeding eyes add a horrifying contrast."
TIP: Buy cheap supermarket fake blood. Colour in the area where you want the blood first with red lipliner, then apply blood. Stays longer and looks more red.
4. THE CHESHIRE CAT
"There's nothing like a pink eyebrow and wide, toothy, spooky grin to set you apart on Halloween night."
TIP: For a good white base, try 'Full Coverage' foundation in 'White' by MAC (£25.50).
5. WINNIE (from Hocus Pocus)
"Who doesn't love Hocus Pocus? It's the world's best Halloween film. Winnie's cruel, witty character teamed with bright pink cheeks and pursed lips makes her impossible not to watch and love."
TIP: I used the red 'Lip 4 Palette' in 'Tease' by Sleek (£8.99). I think I may dust off an old bright red wig next time."
