About our group

Hyde Running Community (HRC): Officially Started Mon 11th Sept 2017

Venue: Active Hyde Leisure Centre, Walker Lane, Hyde, SK14 5PL. HRC

HRC is a NEW FREE running group (ex Hyde Sweatshop SRC) Now registered with  RunTogether, which welcomes runners into a friendly and sociable environment. We want to help you develop and meet your goals whatever they may be. 

We do our upmost to have 2 LIRFS per group HRC Policy.

Minimum Age 18yrs.

Minimum fitness: Be able to run  OVER 3/4mls at minimum 13min ml pace on a flat course.

Hoping to integrate newer runners and abilities as we progress. We have at present 8 UKA LIRF Leaders plus some Voluntary.

Mon/Wed Main runs:

Group 1  Improving Runners  Over 5k to 5ml (Must be able to run minmum 4mls at 13min Mls on a flat route) We shorten route after 3mls if need be.

Group pace 11.30 to 13min on a flat course. Loop backs.

Group 2. improvers. 5mls to 10k. Pace 10.30.mins to 12.30mins on a flat oute. We do loop backs.

 All runs Start at 18.30.

Group 3 and 4.  Inters  9/11k pce on a flat route 10mins to 12mins roughly. We do loopbacks (If enough better ability runners Group 4 runs sun 1min ml pace)

(At Present might be 2 groups within one so we can cover & also split group accordinly.)

We meet & Greet in at front of Hyde Liesure Center

This is a community run not a club, but we have club training ethics training. Our training is unique, in that we do mainly road/off road in Summer months (light nights) and all road in Winter (dark nights). Also we do a large amount of undulating and hilly courses which we will help you to master. We run along some fantastic scenic routes. For example lots of runs over and around Werneth Low and along canal and river trails. We do lots of loop backs and regroups.

We do a repetition session twice a month on every second Wed of the month in Winter,  once per month in Summer. These sessions help to improve style, running pace and fitness. Some are  flat repetitions and some are  hill repetitions so there is a  good bit of variety and  club structured fitness.

HRC Groups & times:

Monday:

18:30 START For all runners: We have  3 Groups  ( But Inter MAY split into 2 Groups if need be or we can cover.)

Group 1.  NEW 3/5 Milers

5/8k (4mls to 5mls ) . 11.30/13mim mls pace on a flat route, must be able to RUN Minimum  of  over 4mls at 13min ml pace on a flat route.. We do Loop backs

Group 2.  Improvers.  ( sometimes Within The Inters Group) We do Loop Backs

8k to 10k (5mls to 6mls) 11/12.30min ml pace on the flat.

Improving Runner/Recovering Runner.  

Group 3 and 4. Inters

9k to 11k (6mls to 7mls) 10/11.30min ml pace on the flat. We do Loop Backs

If enough better ability runners Group 4 runs sub 10min mls pace

All Groups Have a LOOPBACK system.

 

Wednesday

Group 1 . Inters . 

9k to 11k (6mls to 7mls) 10/11.30min ml pace on the flat. We do Loop backs.

Group 2.  Improvers.  ( Sometimes Within The Inters Group).

8k to 10k (5mls to 6mls) 11/12.30min ml pace on the flat. We do Loop backs.

Improving Runner/Recovering Runner.
