Our Story

Not just a GYM, but a TRADITION

Helping young people since 1917

Founded in 1917, Collyhurst and Moston Amateur Boxing Club has a 100 year tradition of providing a space where people can go to train, learn new skills, make friends, helping to create a positive identity for local young people.

From 2012 - 2019, the club was managed by former amateur and professional boxer Thomas McDonagah, who is widely recognized as a Community Ambassador.

A significant piece of work was completed with Reach funding in 2019 to understand the financial situation of the club, convert the club to a charity and scope the potential of further investments and activities the club can undertake.

In November 2019, the charity was born with a board of trustees with senior representation from industries including Education, Social Investment and Business and the Voluntary Sector.
