Barbakan Delicatessen & Bakery is an award-winning artisan bakery and continental delicatessen situated in the heart of Chorlton, Manchester.
Established in 1964, we are committed to continuing our heritage of freshly baked breads and pastries and serving the freshest and most delicious foods direct from our kitchen and delicatessen.
The Bakery
In our on-site bakery, our master bakers use traditional baking methods and specialise in continental loaves, such as our Award-Winning German Norlander, French Campagrain, Italian Contadina, Polish Rye, or Irish Soda. Not forgetting our famous Chorlton Sourdough.
We bake over 75 varieties of hand-moulded loaves , rolls, cakes and pastries throughout the night which are then presented fresh every morning to our beautiful counter.
All of our breakfast and lunch menu options are expertly created around the flavours and textures of our own breads and pastries, resulting in a unique offering not found elsewhere.
We believe we are only as good as the ingredients we use.
The Deli
Peruse our endless varieties of local and continental cheese, olives and charcuterie from our deli counters, like nothing you’ve seen before in the UK.
Be personally served by our knowledgeable shop assistants who will slice your meat freshly in front of you, pour out your coffee beans, cut your cheesecake to size, and fill your olive pots to your hearts content.
We use these top quality ingredients in our kitchen to make delectable quiches, soups, salads & sandwiches made to order.
Our ciabatta sizzlers are incredibly popular.
Our deli variety also inspires us for our event catering and in-house events on our outdoor terrace such a ‘Cheese and Wine’ evenings.
Saturdays
On Saturdays enjoy our famous outdoor German sausage pan, complete with roast potatoes, fried onions and chorizo rice.
