Move over Manchester, there’s a new gin in town, and it’s straight out of Salford. Elegant in a tall bottle and hailed an “exquisite tipple”, premium brand Nicholas James Gin is the brainchild of 26-year-old Salfordian entrepreneur Nicholas McCance.
With two types to try – Nicholas James Original and Nicholas James Raspberry Gin – head below ground to sort-of-secret Wood & Company, hidden away behind the “Goods Entrance” door on South King Street, for a special sampling session on Saturday 1 December.
Prop up the super-long marble bar and enjoy a welcome drink created by the Wood & Co bar team exclusively for the event, then try the thirst-quenching contemporary style gins: the first zingy with loads of lemon zest, the second full of freshly squeezed raspberry juice.
Following a tonic tasting with the new Schweppes 1783 range, you’re free to create your perfect G&T, with specially prepared garnishes to complement each gin.
There are 5 tasting sessions from 12pm-4pm on Saturday 1 December. Tickets available exclusively on the Confidentials app.
