Once the indie pizza star of Radcliffe Market, Luisa’s has a glam and comparatively gargantuan new space in Radcliffe on Church Street West.
Now a bona fide restaurant, Luisa’s is all grown up with swish lighting, warm pops of jewel colour and an open plan kitchen – where the magic happens.
The menu and the whole ethos of generosity and sharing is inspired by Nana Luisa. Especially the Pasta Luisa - freshly-made pasta is served in huge bowls for the table to share alongside accompaniments like grilled vegetables, home-made polpette or slow-cooked beef brisket.
Don’t miss the family-sized lasagne – a perfect meal to enjoy with your nearest and dearest. Something about divvying up and diving in makes it a communal experience you don’t find many places.
Everything is made from scratch and ingredients are a sensible mix of locally-sourced and Italian imports – keeping the authenticity and supporting the local suppliers. Time and care is put into getting the details right – the pizza dough is currently version 3.0 as they continue to prove and improve.
The quality toppings mean each pizza has its own distinct personality from the tried and tested favourites to the artisan inventions and the vegan selection. Gluten free pizzas are also available and there is a good selection of children’s pizzas too.
