Lily's Guide to Indian Sweets

We're well-known for our homemade paneer, aromatic curries, puffed up breads and giant dosa pancakes.

But did you know that Lily's Vegetarian Cafe started life 45 years ago as Ashton Sweet Mart?

Our shelves were stocked with traditional Indian sweets handmade by our namesake Lily (our current owner's mum). And we're still one of the best places in Manchester to find authentic, handmade Indian sweets of all shapes and colours.

They're all vegetarian or vegan. The vegan sweets contain no animal products such as milk or ghee.

From the Barfi to the Halwa to the Jalebi, we make them all fresh in our kitchen.

So the next time you eat with us, make sure you leave room for pudding. Or why not stop by to pick up a box to takeaway?
