Railway station turned go-to destination Escape to Freight Island is Manchester’s must-try food and drink lucky dip, where we showcase some of the UK’s finest chefs and bakers, brewers and cocktail-makers, all together under one roof (and the stars).

Inside the Ticket Hall, head to the wood fire grill centre stage at exclusive Baratxuri for Basque specialities. Belzan Pasta Kitchen promises seasonal small plates and Italian inspiration that’s good for the soul, while sister outlet Madre is a Mexican-style taqueria with a twist. One Star Doner Bar does Michelin-level kebabs and family-run Mi & Pho serves up colourful comfort food, Vietnamese style; US diner wannabe Patty Queen means serious burger business, morning, noon and night, and Voodoo Rays is the place for NYC pizza, one slice at a time. Sweet treats and sticky bake mash-ups come courtesy Choo Choo, while Soft Boi bring the ice cream.

From Saturday 5th February until Saturday 19th March, Escape to Freight Island will present the Guinness Six Nations Championship.

The much-loved venue will be the biggest collaboration with Guinness in the UK outside of London. A dedicated space within the venue will be transformed for rugby-lovers to stay, watch the game, and enjoy a fresh pint of Guinness with Escape to Freight Island’s finest food offers from Patty Queen and Voodoo Ray’s.
