Packed to the warehouse rafters with great vendors, railway station turned must-see destination Escape to Freight Island is top of the bucket list for hungry and thirsty travellers and revellers in Manchester. Eating, drinking and having a ton of fun is the meaning of life for us, so we’re all about showcasing some of the UK’s finest chefs and bakers, brewers and cocktail-makers, all together under one roof (and the stars).
It’s all change this spring and you’ll find some new folk joining the roster inside the Ticket Hall. Burgerism proffers the most popular burger in town with its brioche-couched premium smashed patties and fries, while Lucky Foot Chicken (from the Belzan gang) is all about first-class birds – deep fried and charcoal grilled. Talking of grills, head to the wood fire centre stage for Carnival’s chops and cuts, seafood and Sunday roasts, and a tasting menu from Hawksmoor honcho Richard Turner.
Sweet treats come courtesy Gooey Co, with some special hot cookie doughs and ice cream exclusive to Escape to Freight Island, while bakehouse Batard will be bringing sweet pies to their American diner.
